Our story

After 20 years of guiding, shuttling and paddling on the Battenkill River, Josh Enzensperger founded Vermont River Runners with a vision of providing a more unique, personal and custom way to explore the beauty of this river.

Hailing from Washington state, Josh arrived to the area in 1994, immediately falling in love with the Battenkill Valley. He spent the next 20 years garnering experience and building relationships while helping build another local outfitter.

Having proudly spent that time establishing his presence as a knowledgeable and passionate agent for the river, Josh knew how much more could be offered from a smaller, quality based craft outfitter. Vermont River Runners is just that; a vision of more scenic, less traveled sections of the river. A chance to see the flora and fauna that you have yet to experience.
